USER'S GUIDE TO ASTROLOGY
by Bruce Scofield

Mary Plumb says "It's an excellent, basic, inexpensive book for beginners (and others)."

from the website:
User's Guide to Astrology introduces astrology to both believers and non-believers. It explains many little-known facets of astrology including its long history and why astrology is currently rejected by science. In fact, "User's Guide" answers most, if not all, questions about what astrology is in one, concise volume. You'll find descriptions of all the major astrological symbols, planets, aspects, signs, and houses. There is also much valuable information on computers and astrology, help in finding an astrologer, a "try-this-at-home" section, a list of planetary movements for the next ten years, and a directory of publications and services. http://www.onereed.com/books/uguide.php

Welcome to the Astrology in Ashland website!

The astrology community of southern Oregon is rapidly growing. We have a wonderful sense of community here, and this site is an outgrowth of that. It is our joy to open our community up to all - those local, and guests from around the world. We hope you enjoy your visit and return again.

Astrology in Ashland is another name for SONCGR, the Southern Oregon Chapter of NCGR, the National Council for Geocosmic Research. See the next article for more info about NCGR.

Astrology in Ashland was born in June of 2000, and began public meetings in the fall of 2000. We now meet on the third Monday of each month, September thru May, at the Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library on A Street in Ashland, to learn more about, and share, our love of astrology. Each month we have one or more astrologers speaking on subjects that are at the core of their work.

NCGR is a national non-profit member organization that supports education and research in geocosmic studies. Geocosmic pertains to the study of correspondences and cycles that relate earthly events with celestial phenomena.

Of high priority is the exploration of human nature within personal and social contexts. NCGR recognizes many paths leading to the discovery of knowledge. The Council is dedicated to the idea of scientific advancement through cross-fertilization of ideas between traditional and nontraditional modes of inquiry. Essential to this approach is the collaboration among such disciplines as astrology, astronomy, biology, physics, psychology, and medicine. [press Read More...]
